Olio Nece is an extra virgin olive oil "Terre di Siena" P.D.O. which is made from the cold pressing of olives rigorously from our farm. The P.D.O. certification secures that cultivars have been selected to represent the finest Tuscanness (42% Leccino, 27% Frantoio, 20% Moraiolo, 11% Pendolino). In order to minimize acidity, olives are pressed within 24 hours from harvest, which is anticipated to mid October. This practice generates a low returning yield by weight in oil, but an excellent quality with acidity just around 0.20%: as a matter of fact Olio Nece was granted a silver award at the 2014 New York International Olive Oil Competition and was included in the prestigious olive oil guidebook Flos Olei 2015.
